For comic fans who've waited their entire life to see iconic properties properly represented on screen, the current renaissance has been like dreams coming true every year. There's a whopping seven superhero flicks on the schedule for next year; each one based on either a major property or featuring characters with a massive cult fan base. To say the studios are going all in with this lineup is something of an understatement. 2016 is going to be an intriguing year for superhero movies: DC seem to be getting their game in order, Marvel are moving towards the 3 movie a year model and Fox are opening their expanded universe. It will also definitely test the capacity of the viewing public severely: for the nerds who gobble these movies up hungrily every time, it's not an issue, but the fear of comic book movie fatigue is very real, and eventually the bubble has to burst. Let's hope 2016 is not when that happens. Judging by the caliber of films on the calendar, it's not likely. You want Marvel vs. DC? Ensemble films or solo titles? This slate of movies has something for everyone, and there's a lot to be hyped for.
