Ranking Every DC Comic Book Movie - From Worst to Best

Does Watchmen crack the top ten?

By Scott Campbell /

Unsurprisingly, movie adaptations of DC characters are dominated by the 'Big Two' of Superman and Batman. In fact, out of the 22 live-action feature films based on the company's roster of comic book heroes, no less than 14 star the favorite sons of Metropolis and Gotham, with Zack Snyder's upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice bringing the two together on the big screen in what is fast becoming one of the most anticipated blockbusters in history. To coincide with the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I wrote an article that ranked every movie based on Marvel comic book characters, so it seems only fair to turn the attention to their great rivals. As you will no doubt discover upon reading, DC's cinematic output hasn't always been of the highest quality and the company is far too reliant on Batman and Superman to anchor their blockbuster exploits. In fact, outside of those two superhero icons only Swamp Thing has even been given a sequel! Do you agree with the article? Are DC overly reliant on Batman and Superman, often at the expense of their other properties? What can the company do to compete with Marvel's dominance of the superhero genre? As always, sound off in the comments below.
