Best crossover ever?

Perhaps it's all a little pie in the sky, but Ryan Reynolds has got a lot of comic book movies all sorts of excited, thanks to his public eagerness for a Deadpool/The Avengers crossover movie.

Obviously, the logistics of such a crossover are pretty complex, but the rights sharing relationship between Sony and Marvel does offer some precedent - and should show Fox that teaming up with Marvel could be a solid gold idea. And if it could happen, Reynolds is definitely enthusiastic.

He spoke to Total Film about the possibility of Pool gatecrashing the MCU:

“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea. Can you imagine the s**t-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…”

He's right that there would be stylistic issues - not least because the MCU is very firmly not R-Rated - but it's the kind of fan-baiting suggestion that would make a tonally different one-shot extremely exciting. And not to mention, it would likely make an absolute bucketload of money.

So how about it Marvel? Why not expand into whatever replaces Phase 4 by introducing non-linear one-shot movie events (like Marvel Zombies and other alternate reality stories), starting with Deadpool Kills The MCU?
