Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings: 10 Major New Details You Need To Know
The Master of the Martial Arts' big screen debut looks set to be a game-changer for the MCU...
Ever since the Phase 4 slate started taking shape both on the big screen and the small one (thanks to Disney+), it's been clear that Marvel Studios is looking to prioritise lesser known heroes in their post-Avengers: Endgame world. Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be changed forever, and next February's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings looks set to lead the charge.
Starring relative unknown Simu Liu as the Master of the Martial Arts, the movie promises to bring some much-needed diversity to the MCU, while also addressing a lingering mystery from 2008's Iron Man as The Mandarin finally steps out of the shadows.
There's much more to it than that, though, and Shang-Chi definitely has the potential to change the MCU in a lot of long-lasting ways. Now, we've scoured though official details, huge rumours, and even some recently leaked set photos to bring you an in-depth guide packed full of new details about the film!
Unfortunately, work has been halted on The Legend of the Ten Rings for the time being (we'll get to why a little later), and that makes this intel even more intriguing. After all, with everything that's happening, it could be a while before we get to see anything official from this one...
10. Fin Fang Foom Is Finally Coming To The MCU
According to a rumour shared by Full Circle Cinema, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is going to include Fin Fang Foom. Originally introduced in the pages of Strange Tales, the massive alien dragon hails from the planet Kakaranathara, and has frequently clashed with Iron Man over the years.
Shang-Chi isn't really someone the beloved comic book monster has battled, but he has a number of noteworthy ties to this movie's villain, The Mandarin. In the source material, that baddie actually steals his Ten Rings from the vessel Foom used to travel to Earth, and while we're not expecting a direct adaptation of that, something tells us we will get to see the dragon in action.
Common sense says it will be in some sort of flashback explaining the significance of the Ten Rings The Mandarin cherishes, but it would be pretty cool to see the Master of the Martial Arts fighting this giant monster! Ultimately, it will depend on what sort of tone Marvel Studios chooses to go for here.
