Superman vs. Batman Movie: 5 Reasons It Might Not Work

By Scott Tailford /

With the first round of filming taking place this past Saturday in L.A., the Batman/Superman crossover movie appears to be fully underway! Although it's pretty much a forgone conclusion that the first filmic showdown between the two biggest superheroes of all time will be more popular than a Gangnam Style'ing Jesus coming back from the crypt, there are some potential hiccups in the pipeline that might offset the otherwise popcorn-covered explosion of unrestricted fandom. There's a wealth of speculation going around the internet, mostly overwhelmingly positive fan-fervour that admittedly gets me pumped for what could be a great excuse to cheer your child-through-adulthood-favourite on to the finish. However adapting the comic book world to the big screen is easier said than done, and with incongruous timing placing the announcement and release of Batman/Superman still within a decade of the last two (much darker) Batman flicks, is teaming up right now such a good idea?
