The dust has settled following Netflix's incredible surprise release of the third Cloverfield film, The Cloverfield Paradox, and despite how exciting it all is, it's safe to say that the film fell rather short of the mark compared to its predecessors.

On its own terms it served up neat visuals, some delicious weirdness and a fine performance from Gugu Mbatha-Raw, but it's easy to see why so many fans were left more baffled and confused than entertained.

It is certainly the most WTF film of 2018 so far, from its shock release after the Super Bowl to a narrative that's alternately confusing and straight-up peculiar, accompanied by a number of horrifying death scenes, and an outrageous final shot that really needs to be seen to be believed.
