Thor: Ragnarok - 10 Questions None Of The Trailers Have Answered

Not too many gaps to fill thanks to those spoilerific teasers.

Those neon-coloured, synth-heavy trailers have given most of the game away, but Thor: Ragnarok is still concealing secrets and Marvel Cinematic Universe mysteries.

The footage Marvel has released in advance has been spoilerific, to the extent that it's possible to piece together most of the movie's plot, give or take a few gaps to fill in.

It's pretty much been confirmed that Hela attacks Asgard, defeats Thor and banishes him to Planet Hulk, only for the thunder god to come back like a boomerang for the final battle after forming a team on Sakaar and fighting his way off the alien world. The ending is the only part still shrouded in mystery, but those scenes of mass destruction in the teasers don't exactly bode well for Chris Hemsworth's Avenger.

The plot in a nutshell has been laid out, but there are some cards the film is keeping close to its chest, key connective tissue between the scenes that you won't get to see until Ragnarok is in cinemas. And if the previous MCU films are anything to go off, there's bound to be a few twists in store too.

The trailers have revealed a wealth of content from Thor and Hulk's cosmic roadtrip, but also posed some burning questions ahead of the film's release later this month.

10. Where Is Odin?

The whereabouts of Thor's father Odin have been a mystery since The Dark World's conclusion, which saw the double-crossing Loki masquerading as the Asgardian king.

Anthony Hopkins's Allfather appears to be one of the few Ragnarok characters they've kept out of the trailers, which begs one question: where the hell is he?

Although the official footage hasn't shed any light on this whatsoever, leaked set photos have. Images of Odin seemingly disguised as one of those doom-prophesying New York hobos have been doing the rounds online, suggesting Thor's dad has fled to Earth to warn humanity about the impending apocalypse.

This ties in neatly with Doctor Strange's post-credits sequence, in which the thunder god tells the Sorcerer Supreme that he's on Earth with Loki in search of his father.

There are, however, many unanswered questions around Odin's involvement in Ragnarok. How substantial is his role in the story? Will he return to Asgard for the final showdown with Hela, and will he make it out alive?
