There's a lot to be excited for if you're a Toy Story fan, despite the fact that Woody and Buzz and the rest of Andy's toys bid a tearful farewell way back in 2010. We've already had three shorts since then, in the shape of Hawaiian Vacation, Small Fry and Partysaurus Rex, and now we're on the eve of the first of two 22 minute features, Toy Story Of Terror, which will screen on ABC tomorrow and in the UK on Sky Movies. The feature promises no compromise on the production values, since the team behind it are all Pixar (and not something awful like Circle 7) and the feature hasn't been overly rushed to the screen. If the soundtrack is anything to go by, Toy Story Of Terror is an ode to traditional mystery chillers - the title track sounds a lot like it takes its leads from the Psycho theme, and the atmospherics of the rest of the album certainly set an evocative tone. It's an exciting new direction for the franchise, though of course some fans will be aware that terror has been on the agenda before. So, with the feature set to screen tomorrow in the US, we're presenting the 6 Things You Need To Know related to Toy Story Of Terror.
Honourable Mention
Tim Allen could have been forgiven for thinking that his association with the massive Toy Story franchise might have an impact on his career to bring his status up towards the stratospheric popularity and success of co-star Tom Hanks. After all, the pair are on an equal footing in the movie, and the role of Buzz Lightyear is arguably the more demanding, and certainly the more eye-catching, even if he is given less importance in the subsequent movies. But, life can be a cold merciless witch of a thing, and the reality is that while Hanks has gone on to pick up Oscar nominations, and be beloved to the point that everyone forgave him for his continued association with the Dan Brown movies, Tim Allen has made Zoom and 3 Geezers. Number Of Films Tim Allen Has Made Since Toy Story Came Out: 20 (Not including Toy Story related roles.) Number Of Tim Allen Films You Have Probably Seen Since Toy Story Came Out: Probably 2. Maybe 3 at a push.
