Renowned for their envelope-pushing narratives, eccentric characters and sprawling open-worlds, the studio has continually redefined what's possible with the medium while dabbling in a variety of settings and eras.
From the noir trappings of the Max Payne series to the schoolyard antics of Bullworth Academy; Rockstar aren't content with being pigeonholed, their every move shadowed by an ravenous crowd of gamers hungry for more. With Rockstar's foray into the Old West in 2010 came what many still consider to be the studio's finest achievement yet; and it's certainly easy to see why - never has a game so faithfully bottled the spirit of an era.
Every hour brought new experiences, and every experience was burned indelibly into the collective consciousness of the gaming world. We laughed, we certainly shed a tear or two, and by the time the credits rolled around, we sat in awe-struck silence contemplating the supposed limitations of the medium.
