After E3 was unceremoniously cancelled last year due to the global pandemic, many feared that the once-prestigious video game industry event had effectively let out its death rattle.

And while this year's show will be an all-digital affair due to the practical concerns of hosting it in-person, E3 2021 has seen a surprising number of companies return back to the fold.

And so, after last year's chaotic summer of never-ending, scattershot video game announcements, E3 will once again serve as a hub for the biggest games publishers on the planet to announce their latest and greatest releases.

It's always fun to consider what might be revealed, and there are a number of very reasonable predictions we can make.

Remakes of The Last of Us and Metal Gear Solid, a Silent Hill reboot, Alan Wake 2, Bioshock 4, the Nintendo Switch Pro, and Starfield are all incredibly safe bets to be shown off.

But what about those more adventurous, left-field predictions which aren't so much rooted in reasonable conjecture but wishful thinking?

It's certainly possible these 10 reveals and announcements happen, though each would nevertheless be extremely surprising all the same...

10. Playable Zelda Confirmed For Breath Of The Wild 2

The successor to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced at E3 2019, though beyond a brief reveal trailer, there's been little in the way of concrete information.

The presence of Link and Zelda adventuring together in the cinematic trailer, however, caused many to speculate that the game will be introducing co-op gameplay to the mainline series for the first time.

Though fans have been sharply divided on the inclusion of a co-op element, given the likelihood that Breath of the Wild 2 will be shown off by Nintendo during E3 week, we should find out one way or another.

Considering that producer Eiji Aonuma has teased that the game will build on Breath of the Wild's much-loved gameplay in some substantial ways, the inclusion of optional, drop-in, drop-out co-op would be an incredible way to elevate the series and make it even more accessible to casual players.
