An almost unspeakable act. To write off all those classics, that at one point were so great no other game could even come compare. But like a guest on the Jeremy Kyle show, some of these games just don't age well. Some try to replicate the success they had with their first entries that took the world by storm, only to fall foul of the old saying "If it isn't broke, don't fix it". Their original successes gives them the perfect platform to enhance on their glory, yet some just didn't know when to stop. They end up running certain franchises in to the ground with no end in sight and avid followers begging and pleading for them to just stop as they cannot handle the torture anymore. So, with that being said, I've compiled a list of 10 games that unfortunately fall in to this criteria.
10. Tomb Raider
Lara's making a comeback to our consoles next year, in which we learn where she developed her skills from and how she became the infamous Tomb Raider we all know. But isn't it time Lara gave it a rest and just let the Tomb Raider series lay to rest? Lara's history has been manipulated several times throughout the series and now Crystal Dynamics have deemed it fit to develop a whole game to her history, to finally put a concrete story to her past. Yet the game has reached its tenth title and personally I believe the games have staggered downhill ever since Tomb Raider II on the original PlayStation. Every release since then seems to have come up short of the original and it's about time Lara retired her dual wielded pistols and take a well earned early retirement.
