10 Once Great Video Game Franchises That Should Disappear

9. Grand Theft Auto

I'm opening the floodgates for abuse with this one. Unfortunately, Grand Theft Auto hit its peak with San Andreas. Its predecessors were nothing short of brilliant either. But when Rockstar decided to grace us with Grand Theft Auto IV, you somewhat held higher expectations for what came to be. San Andreas offered a very diverse playing field, and GTA:IV seemed to have gone backwards of a sort and felt very limited. Of course a new addition is coming our way very soon, but I think Rockstar will have to start thinking about other ventures. Yes, it was fun in the early days of roaming around and clubbing random civilians, or stealing an array of cars and going about your daily rampage. But after fifteen titles, time does take its toll and this series just doesn't appeal anymore and it's probably time for Grand Theft Auto to take a long drive in to sunset. Not without a few drive-bys first though.
