10 Powerful Video Game Features NOBODY Uses (But You Should)

The hidden gems everyone sleeps on!

Over the years, video games, both AAA and indie alike, have become quite expansive. Most titles out there have a huge list of extra features and mechanics, but with such abundance, there often comes neglect.

Sometimes, a carefully crafted, highly elaborate mechanic that some poor developer spends hours creating gets pushed aside and forgotten by the players, as they don't seem to have any reason to use it and there are far more interesting things to do in the game.

The feature might be detailed and maybe even useful, but no one will ever touch it because it's either too complicated, too irrelevant in the larger scheme of things, or it's simply easily forgettable as you progress through the game and move onto other things.

These forgotten mechanics do deserve their own spotlight, however, as they can be extremely beneficial or open up new aspects of the gameplay that you'd never thought existed!

For this reason, if you're curious to explore new mechanics or find out if there are any neglected features in the games you're playing, be sure to check out the following list.

10. Restaurant Battles - Pokemon X & Y

Pokemon X and Y take place in the France-inspired region of Kalos, which includes plenty of fancy gourmet restaurants in its capital, Lumiose City.

The restaurants come with their own unique battle mode, which requires you to finish a sequence of battles with the restaurant's staff members in a specific number of turns in order to eat the meals they serve at just the right moment.

The battles can be quite chaotic and fun, but since the restaurants are scattered in remote parts of Lumiose City, the feature is usually ignored and forgotten on most playthroughs, which is a shame considering restaurant battles are secretly one of the best ways to earn money in Pokemon X and Y.

It might sound counterintuitive, considering you have to pay for your meals at the restaurants, but every time you finish your dining experience with a perfect score, the restaurant owners will reward you with rare and expensive mushrooms that you can sell for huge amounts of cash.

Going on restaurant tours throughout the city can make you rich incredibly fast, and best of all, you can repeat the process daily for infinite profits.

It kind of makes you wonder how these restaurants manage to stay afloat.
