10. Summer Games Drought, Again

Like last year's version of this article, we begin with the most unexciting time in the video game calendar, summer. The Summer Games Drought €“ like every year €“ was an extremely dry and lengthy one. Though it is admittedly strange to say how thirsty gamers were when titles like The Last of Us, Limbo and €“ one fantastic game €“ Papers, Please were all released in the summer months. However, that only highlighted the major flaws that the rest of the atrocious summer games had. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, New Super Luigi U, Deadpool, Dynasty Warriors 8, Lost Planet 3 etc., look like the fever dreams of a mad man next to the big three games of summer, even if they weren't flawless themselves. One could argue that because a few good games came out during this year's drought, it's far better than the drought of 2012. And, while there is some validity in that statement €“ like I said above €“ it only draws focus to this boring time of the year. Yeah, 2013 went little smoother than 2012, but I still felt parched.
