The video game medium can be experienced in a number of different ways. Battling it out with our adversaries in the punishing crucible of online multiplayer, getting lost in a wonderfully crafted fictional world or experiencing an impactful story filled with kooky characters and gripping tales are just a few examples of how the games we love can fuel our thirst for escapism.

However, it would be naive to assume that the games industry is without fault. The experiences we have with the titles we revere often come at the cost of poor management, political differences and shady business tactics, all of which can impact negatively on an otherwise outstanding hobby.

If any industry has the capability to be better, it's video games. Communities are packed with the harshest of critics, but the most passionate of players, who all have much to gain from the games they love.
