2015 is now well in the rear-view mirror, sort of like a lover who once meant a lot to you but now must be left behind, teary-eyed, by the roadside. Okay, so there's a good chance that none of us ever had such an experience, but for the sake of the analogy, bear with me. It was a good year for games, and a great year for game physics. Open-world titles and RPGs that defined 2015 threw up plenty of crazy emergent gameplay scenarios, morphing into cruel cases of the environment turning on the player and, of course, ridiculous, immersion-breaking glitches. So before we leave the last year behind completely, let's turn that figurative car around, and enjoy one final tryst with 2015 by checking out the craziest GIF-based highlights from its greatest games.
12. Fly To The Highest Heights - Just Cause 3
Just Cause 3 was pretty much designed with GIFs in mind. Shallow on story and depth, the game focused instead on offering a beautiful, explosive sandbox brimming with opportunities for physics-based mayhem. Well, I say physics, but the relationship to gravity in this GIF is perplexing. Using the gun that turns heads into giant helium balloons, one player managed to execute a deft move whereby they sent Rico rocketing up towards the stratosphere. Come to think of it, helium is lighter than air, so what you're seeing above actually makes perfect sense... kind of.
