After 2014 delivered possibly more disappointing video games and infuriating business practices from developers than ever before, it really began to feel like gamers finally started to stand up for themselves and vote with their wallets against greedy publishers. Even so, the sad truth is that the majority of the various schemes and shady scams devised to part gamers with their cash (as opposed to just making a great game) actually do work, hence why 2015 seems even more full of games designed almost entirely to rip players off. Now, nobody begrudges developers for trying to make money: as much as you love gaming, you're probably smart enough to appreciate that business comes first, and in that stead, plenty of developers deliver DLC in a way that promotes value above all else. Sadly, though, some of the bigger companies working on games right now (EA and Capcom in particular) seem to be showing only the minimal level of respect towards gamers required to prise some cash from their hands, and as consumers, it's absolutely something everyone should actively rail against, or risk its pervasiveness increasing in the years to come.
