14 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2018 (So Far)

2018 may not have quite replicated the insane glory of 2017's first half as of yet, but it has been quite the excellent year for games regardless. Titles such as God of War, Celeste, Shadow of the Colossus Remake, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Yakuza 6 and countless others have made it a half-year jam-packed with quality titles.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are those fundamentally naff games just about everyone expected to suck: the likes of Metal Gear Survive, Dynasty Warriors 9, Agony and so on.

But what about those games that just fell short of player expectations? They weren't necessarily bad games - though some of them definitely were - but each nevertheless failed to measure up to what gamers more often than not reasonably expected.

For a multitude of reasons, these 14 games didn't meet fans' hopes and dreams, and though entertainment value can certainly be found within them, they didn't achieve the greatness they were so clearly capable of.

The lesson here? Don't pre-order games unless you've got money to burn, and Steam refunds are a wonderful thing...
