15 Problems Only Destiny Gamers Will Understand

You don't have to be a Wizard from the Moon to understand these... But it helps.

It might have taken several years but the future is finally here. From the very beginning, Destiny was touted as the first "next-gen" experience and while it might not have justified all of the hype, it certainly lives up to the next-gen tag. With big, bombastic scenes and intricate mechanics, Destiny takes a small portion of the universe and turns it into a playground for us to explore, fight and socialise in. Like all the best MMOs, it keeps drawing us back in too. It's a very repetitive game by nature (again, a common feature in most MMOs) but there's something very addictive at the game's core. Maybe it's the great gunplay which rewards accuracy or perhaps it's the constant motivation to better our characters and improve our gear; whatever it is, Destiny is a game which we'll hopefully be playing for years to come. Of course, the game has its flaws. The social aspects are pretty non-existent; the PvP (or the Crucible, as it's known in-game) is unbalanced; and much of the endgame is focused on grinding reputations and currencies, unexpectedly so for many people. At the end of the day though, the reality is, many people just weren't aware that Destiny was designed as an MMO. As a result, they weren't prepared to put the work in to improve their Guardians or to learn the game mechanics; they simply wanted to jump into another Halo game. For those of us that stuck by it, Destiny is massively rewarding. There are regular events designed to offer us something new and exciting every week; there are limited time vendors whose wares are only available for a couple of days at a time; and new, harder game modes are being added to give the higher-level players something to do all the time - can you really say you're done with Destiny until you've conquered the Vault of Glass, the game's first raid? All of this means that Destiny has gathered a rather large and dedicated fanbase. Thousands of people have flocked online to discuss the best ways to farm materials or which subclass upgrades they should be using to maximise their potential. There's also plenty of people willing to poke fun at the game's flaws and laugh them off, rather than complain endlessly. This article is for those fans; the ones who are enjoying Destiny for what it is and not for what the masses thought it should be. If you can think of any other elements of Destiny that only fans will understand, please leave your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
