One of Destiny's flaws (that are currently being addressed, it's worth noting) is the inability to communicate with other players through voice chat. This causes problems when using matchmaking to fill firesquads and going on to complete strikes; it's hard to co-ordinate when the meager tools at your disposal are a series of waves and points. It seems odd for a development team to overlook such a key feature in an MMO, especially when they've created an area and specifically labelled it as a Social area. Perhaps this was Bungie's intention all along though. Perhaps we, as players, are supposed to figure out our own way of communicating through very basic hand signals and gestures. After all, Destiny features a range of races and not all of them may be familiar with the English language (if that's even what we'll be speaking in the future); a wave on the other hand is a pretty universal thing. Or maybe they simply overlooked the need to socialise with random players; could be either or, really.
14. Accepting That You'll Never Unlock The "Flawless Raider" Achievement/Trophy
It took a while for raids to be released to the community but when they arrived, they stole the spotlight. The first raid, Vault Of Glass, is set on Venus and requires incredible levels of co-operation, teamwork and skill to be overcome. If that wasn't hard enough for you, there's also a Hard Mode which ups the challenge even more. Even if you and five buddies are all levelled up and ready to go, it's going to be a tough task. Unfortunately, for the achievement hunters in all of us, there's several tough accomplishments linked to raids. One in particular - "Flawless Raider" - currently seems impossible right now. It requires your group to finish a raid with no deaths; that already sounds like a daunting task but when you consider that the first group to beat the raid died over a thousand times? We're comfortable accepting defeat to that challenge.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
