There is a pretty big jump, technology wise, between the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Xbox One/PS4 . But - as the speed at which technology advances increases with time - the difference between these recently released consoles and their next iterations will be enormous. Graphical improvements won't be the only advancements, these future machines will likely be designed and interacted with in a totally different way to what we are used to. It was roughly 8 years between the release of the Xbox 360/PS3 and the current generation of consoles. If it is the same length of time before the Xbox Two/PS5 is released, (assuming these are the names they go with) then we would be looking at around 2023 before they see the light of day. By then we will of seen huge advances in the fields of entertainment based technology, possibly as big a step as the move from black and white televisions to colour. So what changes can we expect in the next versions of Sony and MIcrosoft's machines? While some of these predictions may be highly likely, others are based on the way technology appears to be heading. It's also probable that the consoles will feature some advancements that haven't even been conceived of yet. Let's see how many were right - once 2023 arrives...
