Battlefield 1: 10 Problems From The Beta That Must Be Fixed

Is being a Medic supposed to be as hopeless as it was back then?

Battlefield 1's betas was one of the more highly anticipated in some time, as fans were finally going to be able to play a shooter that wasn't set in the future, and on next gen graphics to boot.

Naturally, with early access came the typical bugs and problems you'd be expected to see, and Battlefield 1's beta also had its own server issues to deal with, thanks to a DDoS attack which left everything unplayable for most players on the first day.

Other than these issues, problems about the game's core gameplay came to light as so many longtime fans were able to play and test every last new feature. It must be said that betas are rarely perfect, and it's understandable when problems arise. A freshly polished multiplayer was not expected, and running into some problems didn't kill the experience.

That said, for the game to be successful in the long run, there are some very evident problems that need to be fixed before release. From simple presentation mechanics to game balancing, these are some of the things if left unchecked, could cause Battlefield 1 problems at launch time.

10. The Ever Present Problem With Vaulting

If there's one thing it seems DICE can never get a solid grasp on, it's the vaulting mechanic in their games. Going to vault over an object only to just jump into the wall - or vaulting halfway to inevitably fall back down -are some of the major issues. Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 and even Hardline had problems with it, and Battlefield 1 is no different.

You can thank the map selection for this problem coming to light as well. Sinai Desert, with it's many uneven rocky structures, forced you to vault on numerous occasions, and usually ended with sheer frustration or an unwanted death as you were stuck on the world geography rather than getting out the line of fire.

There's been enough Battlefield games where this has been a problem in some way or another. Even Battlefront, which doesn't feature a vaulting mechanic, had players getting stuck in the geography constantly. At this point, it should be fixed, and hopefully Battlefield 1 can be the point where it actually happens.
