Battlefield 1: 10 Problems From The Beta That Must Be Fixed
9. Too Many Hidden Features
Did you know you could change the voice of the announcer from female to male, or that you could turn it off entirely? Or that you could change the color of your crosshairs and the color that pops up when you get a headshot in-game? It's no surprise if not, as these are but a few of the many features tucked away behind countless menus, and there are plenty more.
Thanks to the very simplistic look Battlefield 1 is going for, a lot of usual HUD mechanics players may be used to have been turned off by default. Like the kill log for instance: If you're one of the many players who look to this to find out when squad mates around you've died, you'll need to turn it back on.
And if you'd like to be able to see your gun and equipment on screen at all times, you'll have to turn that back on as well. I can't tell you how many times while first playing as a medic, I accidentally took out the syringe instead of throwing a health pack because I simply didn't know which button did which. It wouldn't be a shock if some players didn't know you can customize your class before you spawn, or that you can choose what vehicle you spawn into.
A simple solution would be upon start-up, asking the player if they'd prefer a more simplistic style or the traditional multiplayer presentation. At least that way, you'd know these options are even there.
