Forget Uncharted. Forget Halo 5. In anticipation of E3, there's only one game that's been catching the eye of a certain type of gamer. Bloodborne (previously known only under its working title, Project Beast) is an upcoming game by developers From Software, best known for being the sadistic geniuses behind the Dark Souls and Demons Souls titles. Bloodborne has been kept under close wraps, with the only evidence of its existence being a smattering of vague, blurry screenshots and short, leaked gameplay clips. Despite this distinct lack of information, bloodthirsty Souls fans have worked themselves into a frenzy, building a huge cloud of hype around the title. Now officially confirmed at E3 to be in development, Bloodborne is looking set to expand upon the unprecedented success of its forebearers. Considering the cult status that the Souls games have already attained, a new From Software title is always going to come with huge expectations. That said, based on the strength of what we've seen at this year's E3, here are five reasons why we think Dark Souls fans should definitely be ecstatic about Bloodborne.
