It€™s here, the 2014 entry in Activision€™s "licence to print money" that is the Call Of Duty franchise has just had its reveal trailer released and it€™s looking very different. Spectacularly different, in fact. While gamers have been progressively getting more apathetic for years with CoD, calls have been made by players and the press to revitalise the series. Attempts were made to change things up in the past, with Black Ops II being set in a near-future warzone to allow for some cool gizmos and gadgets to be deployed onto the battlefield, but it was with 2013€™s Ghosts that the Call Of Duty series started to show the cracks. Ghosts had the lowest metacritic score for any CoD game since Modern Warfare 2, a sure sign that the gaming community was starting to tire of the implausible and improbable corridor shooting that the series was getting known for. It still sold by the metric truck load, but as is the same with FIFA, the online multiplayer component keeps the community locked into a rhythm of buying every year€™s model just to keep up with other players. Things are definitely changing with 2014€™s game though. Subtitled €˜Advanced Warfare€™, this is CoD going into full blown science fiction mode. The trailer has been leaked ahead of the official reveal on Sunday, but from this little two minute burst alone, here are 5 reasons why you should be very excited about the first Call Of Duty to take one giant leap into the future.
