E3 2021: 7 Biggest Announcements From The Ubisoft Conference
E3 begins with a bang!
It's hard not to get unrealistic expectations when going into an E3 conference. Without an E3 last year expectations are bigger than ever for E3 2021 to be worth two E3's worth of content. Whilst that’s not fair to expect, it makes sense as to why everybody's expectations are through the roof.
A lot of people went into Ubisoft's 2021 E3 conference expecting to see a new Splinter Cell or perhaps some more information on Beyond Good and Evil 2. Even though we didn't get any of that, there were a lot of cool announcements for Ubisoft fans to get excited about.
Ubisoft has always had very hit-or-miss conferences. Where does this land? It lands somewhere in the middle. It's not going to blow anyone away but there were a few announcements to get excited about.
Ubisoft gave us an hour of gaming news filled with information on what is to come from some Ubisoft favourites, news on previously announced upcoming games, and even a couple of brand new game reveals.
Yes, we didn't get a new Rayman game, but there's always next year, right?
7. More Information On Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction
It's not often that a game gets its official name changed. Rainbow Six Extraction was originally revealed as Rainbow Six Quarantine until the idea of quarantining became all too real for everybody.
Looking at Extraction, it's hard to remember the game's routes as being based on an all things considered relatively grounded book.
Rainbow Six Extraction is a more realised version of the Outbreak event from the Operation Chimera expansion for Rainbow Six Siege.
This game looked interesting and luckily Ubisoft had almost 15 minutes worth of content to show us, including a cinematic trailer, some interviews, and a ton of gameplay.
In Extraction, you and two other friends must travel through 12 maps as your favourite Rainbow Six Siege operators. Each operator has unique abilities which can be upgraded as you progress through the game.
One of the more interesting aspects of the game is that if you lose, that operator will be missing in action. Once missing in action you will need to go back in as another character to rescue them if you want to play as them again.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Stadia on 16 September 2021.
