Ever wondered how 2K Games rank the current stars on the roster against legends of the company? Now's your chance to find out.

This year's game features an embarrassment of riches in terms of the roster: there are an almighty 149 playable characters already revealed and playable (including pre-order bonus Goldberg and the NXT edition bonuses), and more will be added with upcoming DLC. You lucky, lucky devils.

Obviously the game also includes ratings for management figures like Heenan and Heyman, but since they won't be throwing any slaps or taking any bumps in the ring, they can sit this one out. And in the meantime, let's look through the WWE ladder of ability, as presented by WWE 2K17.

Here's how this year's crop rank from bottom to top...

149. Eva Marie

Rating: 67

Last Year's Rating: 77

It's a little like kicking an easy target when it's already down, but 2K went there anyway, giving Eva Marie the inauspicious title of the worst Female superstar (and joint worst overall) wrestler on the roster. The worst thing is it's hard to argue with it, frankly - but a 10 point deduction still feels mean.

148. Bo Dallas

Rating: 67

Last Year's Rating: 83

Bo Dollas plummets 16 points thanks no doubt in part to the disastrous overall effect of the Social Outcasts. He might be enjoying life outside of the stable now, but 2K obviously haven't seen enough in the past year to keep him above the not-quite-as-embarrassing 70 rating cut off.

Obviously being a former NXT champ counts for very little these days.

147. Curtis Axel

Rating: 68

Last Year's Rating: 83

To be fair to the likes of Axel and Dallas, 2K have worked on making their ratings spread a lot more realistic. It might seem harsh that he's nose-dived a full 15 points from last year, but when you consider that he's now 25 behind John Cena and Seth Rollins, that's probably about right for the current state of the product.

146. Viktor

Rating: 68

Last Year's Rating: 82

The first half of the Ascension (clearly 2K's least favourite tag team given how low both of them rate) is another to not reach the 70 point cut off. He can count himself aggrieved, but he's not done a great deal since 2k16 to warrant anything like last year's rating.

At least he looks pretty good.
