Far Cry is easily one of Ubisoft's most special franchises. Fact.

Although it may not be a yearly release like Assassin's Creed once was, Far Cry more than makes up for its absence by delivering a series that hasn't had a bad game yet - and doesn't look set to, either. Each instalment delivers amazing worlds, fascinating characters, great themes and fun open-world gameplay that improves each and every time.

Everyone has their own favourite Far Cry, but it's inarguable that the series has plenty of great ones to choose from. Whether you favour Rook Island, Kyrat or even the wacky world of Blood Dragon, the Far Cry series is absolutely stuffed full of amazing moments that make the series stand tall against a host of competitors.

With Far Cry 5 coming up very soon, it's worth looking back on some of the moments that really defined the series, making it what it is today. Here's hoping that Far Cry 5 helps introduce even more iconic moments to the mix.

10. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - The "Tutorial" Section

Blood Dragon could be on this list for many different reasons, but it first showed its greatness during the tutorial section.

Everyone loves a good fourth-wall break right? Blood Dragon was absolutely stuffed with them with its tongue planted firmly in its own cheek. This is a big part of what made the game so enjoyable, as the game really didn't try and take itself as seriously as the base game, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the first half an hour.

Although the serious tone was a strength of Far Cry 3, the fact that Blood Dragon ignored it so dutifully is a big part of what makes it great. Riding into the game on a helicopter playing Tutti Frutti by Little Richard is so off-the-wall that it just manages to work.

The tutorial section is also so great because it instantly shows you how much work Ubisoft had done to make this DLC wholly unique from Far Cry 3. New animations, new guns and a completely different style all put Blood Dragon as one of the best add-ons in gaming history.

If a tutorial can show all that, it's certainly worth mentioning.
