At long last, the latest DC project from WB Montreal has been revealed as Gotham Knights.

Taking place in an alternate version of Gotham to the Arkham series, Gotham Knights focuses on four members of the Bat Family following the supposed death of Bruce Wayne.

Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood will all be playable characters upon release, each featuring unique abilities and customizable gear.

During a seven-minute gameplay demo, we get to see two of these heroes in action with some teasers as to how much we will be able to customise our favourite character. With that being said, players can choose to play as any of the four characters throughout the campaign with their own dialogue and interactions.

As with previous Batman-related titles, it is not outside the realm of possibility that we may see further additions to the roster through DLC. Arkham Asylum featured a Joker add-on, City had Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman; Origins had Deathstroke; and Knight had Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, Azrael, and Harley Quinn.

With plenty of potential Bat Family members on the cards, let's delve into some of the most important Dark Knight allies who should be in with a chance of appearing in Gotham Knights.

8. Knight And Squire

This bizarre dynamic duo are essentially the UK's answer to Batman and Robin.

Despite being rather unknown to mainstream audiences, Knight has actually been around since the 1950s with Percy Sheldrake first appearing in Batman #62.

As "The Batman of England", Knight and their trusty sidekick Squire team up to defeat all kinds of weird Villains, including a Shakespearian Richard III.

The two played major roles in several large Batman titles such as Batman R.I.P, Battle for the Cowl, Final Crisis, and Batman: Incorporated. Each time the two are typically called upon in the absence of Batman to help bolster their numbers.

During Batman: Incorporated, Squire aka Beryl Hutchinson, takes up the mantle of Knight so either of the two being playable characters would be a great asset to the roster. Having Knight on the team would also be a great opportunity for WB to further flesh out their new continuity.
