So amongst a seemingly never-ending swathe of fan-adoration, it's prompted me to probe the ever-present internet adage of 'is it just me' and apply it to hating Trevor's character. Whilst I think Rockstar were trying to do some pretty ballsy things with his portrayal and usage in some (extremely controversial) missions, ultimately for me they completely fell flat. GTA V remains one of the greatest technological and thematic achievements in any medium, made up of a cavalcade of twisted stereotypes, some leaning more towards truth than others, and all contributing to the games' existence as a black mirror, constantly reflecting every nuance of modern society. With three main protagonists, Michael, Trevor and Franklin, Rockstar have created three sets of motivations and three totally separate living situations with which to bounce off their crazy world of sexual innuendos and hyper-violence. It's an approach that works resoundingly well, instilling the notion that certain characters would do more reprehensible things than others, thereby removing the ludonarrative disconnect many felt when dabbling in a bout of wanton destruction whilst playing as the otherwise pacified Niko Bellic in GTA IV. However, from just after Trevor's introduction to his ultimate post-credits endpoint, I didn't care what happened to the guy outside of the occasional RPG-infused rampage, for a variety of reasons. The biggest of which I'll share with you fine folks right now! Spoilers will follow for the entire game, so I fully encourage you to go and finish the main missions before diving in with your own thoughts!
