Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 14 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do

With Zelda and now Mario Kart, the Switch finally has more than one immaculate Nintendo exclusive. Both of which easily justify purchasing the system, and work perfectly on screens of all sizes, especially when playing handheld.
It goes without saying that Mario Kart is one of the biggest franchises in the industry too, one that goes all the way back to 1992, and is yet have anything close to a bad instalment - save the 'worst' possibly being something like the Game Boy Advance's Super Circuit. Now we're onto the revamped 'Deluxe' eighth edition; one that's a Switch exclusive, but that bears a ton of carryover from 2014's Wii U original.
Nintendo have done the necessaries and included all requisite DLC, all additional characters, maps and items to equip for your chosen racer. The frame rate now runs at a butter-smooth 60fps both when docked and in handheld. By a country mile, this is the Mario Kart experience, single-handedly revitalising local multiplayer by letting two players play with segmented halves of the Joy-Con controller.
Needless to say, couple all these things with Nintendo's free (for now) online service, and you're going to be doing a LOT of Mario Kart'ing. Just make sure you know how to get the most out of each race...
