The dawning of a new era for the Mortal Kombat series is finally upon us. NeatherRealm's highly anticipated MK1 is set to kickstart a whole new universe for the iconic fighting franchise, and fans couldn't be more excited.

Each new release in the MK series comes with a set of things to look forward to. You've got the next chapter in the ongoing story, fresh fatalities that make you want to chuck up your lunch, improved gameplay, stronger visuals, and more. But one thing that really gets your blood pumping is seeing what wild DLC characters the games will introduce.

The series has settled plenty of playground debates through guest characters. Do you want to see John Rambo take on Predator or Robocop battling The Terminator? Well, NeatherRealm has you sorted!

MK1's first DLC Kombat Pack includes six additional fighters, half of which are from the franchise and the other half pop culture. But, as is always the case with gamers, we just want more!

There's a selection of characters from film, TV, and comics who would easily suit the blood-drenched world of MK, and these are ten of the best.

10. Michael Myers (Halloween)

Here's a little rundown of all the guest horror characters that have appeared in the Mortal Kombat series: Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, The Predator, The Xenomorph, and Jason Voorhees.

Horror fanatics will quickly notice that a certain legendary villain has been left off this list, and if that doesn't change, then Ed Boon and John Tobias (the series creators) better watch their backs on Halloween night.

The iconic Michael Myers is one of the most beloved slasher villains ever put to the screen. This creepy, imposing, haunting character is a tall figure with an uncanny mask and a penchant for carving up flesh that makes butchers look like ice cream men.

He's known for being an uncompromising killer, which would blend perfectly with the MK Universe. Seeing him go up against deadly characters and no-selling their attacks would be utterly awe-inspiring, and people would no doubt want to play as him.

Admittedly, seeing Myers get brutalised or, God forbid, suffering a fatality, would be a strange sight. But he would be the ultimate horror character for MK to tick off their list.
