Mortal Kombat X: 10 Most Underpowered Characters That Need Upgrading

In a game all about movement, who creates a character powered by staying still?!

There's always two sides to the same coin when it comes to debating overpowered characters. If you've recently found yourself sinking slowly into despair after a tenth straight defeat to a Scorpion player spamming Hellfire, it's hardly a stretch of the imagination to suspect that Mortal Kombat X is home to just as many underpowered fighters as it is overpowered ones. A good beat 'em up will always have a solid roster of characters that have favourable outcomes against certain opponents, but when victory is made borderline impossible, you know something's up. I mean, how can you ever hope to win with Quan Chi's defensive Sorcerer variation when your opponent essentially wins as soon as they start moving forward? Illogical design decisions are everywhere in Mortal Kombat X; an incredibly fiddly, defensive variant for Liu Kang is just what you wanted, right? It's not as if the Shaolin Monk is primarily an offensive character or anything. NetherRealm deserve some credit for trying to mix things up in regards to how established characters have played in the past, but the time has come for the studio to take a step back, give some of their creations some TLC and ask themselves a very important question... 'Who thought any of these were a good idea?'
