Mortal Kombat X: 10 Most Underpowered Characters That Need Upgrading

10. Liu Kang (Dualist)

Liu Kang's Dualist variation isn't exactly underpowered in the traditional sense, it's more a case of one that's unnecessarily convoluted and fiddly to the point of uselessness. The main gimmick with the variation is Kang's ability to switch between two different fighting styles (light and dark) - using them both in tandem to utilise their passive healing abilities and knockdown effects respectively. Oh, knockdown you say? You mean that one type of attack you never want to actually do, because it robs you of the ability to use the character's patented Bicycle Kick? Yeah, exactly. Dualist's existence is completely illogical and goes against the rushdown playstyle that Liu Kang traditionally uses otherwise. It's slow to use, cumbersome and totally open to being punished. Unless NetherRealm speed up the stance transitions and remove the knockdown effects of all the dark metamorphosis attacks, Dualist will remain an unwanted third wheel against Flame Fist and Dragon's Fire.
