Much though the Nintendo Wii U is the butt of countless jokes for its commercial failure, oafish controller and meagre games library, Nintendo deserves credit for continuing to push boundaries in ways that other console makers wouldn't dare. The company's desire to innovate the way in which we consume video games has been a turbulent one. From the high-point of the Wii and DS - ingenious creations that the hardcore gamer balked at, but which arguably saved Nintendo from hardware extinction - to the disaster that was the Wii U, Nintendo is no stranger to the ups and downs of the console business. Nintendo clearly aren't a company to wallow in self-pity, so it was little surprise when they announced a mysterious new games console in March, the Nintendo 'NX', assumedly a machine that will allow them to contend with the PS4 and Xbox One more directly than before. We don't know a ton about this mysterious hardware, but plenty of intriguing details have trickled through in recent months.
