The latest instalment of the famous Pokémon series, X and Y, is currently taking the world by Poke storm! Between generations, small elements of change are implemented to keep the series fresh. These features usually include new Pokémon, moves, and locations, with nothing introduced particularly shaking the foundations. However, several new elements present themselves in Generation VI, which demands the attention of seasoned players and first timers alike. X and Y do a great job explaining these new ideas on show, but some information is more important than others! So, in order to help my fellow Pokémon players out, I have compiled what I feel is a handy list with some important tips for those new to the franchise and those experienced individuals. Some little pointers, if you will, to keep in mind!
8. Improved EXP Share
For veterans of the franchise, who are familiar with the former EXP Share item, this point is especially relevant. This generation, EXP share has been drastically improved and given very early in your adventure. The item in former titles could only be held by one individual Pokémon, which would in turn gain experience without needing to participate in battle. However in X/Y it becomes a key item in your backpack, and when activated, all inactive party Pokémon gain additional experience. Equipping this item doesn't reduce the amount of experience gained by the battler/s, it only generates extra experience for all your party members that wouldn't exist otherwise. So no more difficult choices to make concerning who reaps the rewards, set (and keep) EXP Share on and enjoy all that party experience rolling in.
