It wasn't all bad as we had time to catch up on everything, but sans the surprisingly solid Jurassic Park World tie-in and Unravel Two, 2018 was initially looking like all the best cards were dealt in those opening months.

Then E3 happened. With it came a slew of release dates, confirmations of long-in-development titles dropping very soon, and all sorts of new titles we'd be getting our hands on before Christmas.

Now the release calendar is positively RAMMED; chock-full of everything from Rockstar's first game in five years to Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed shaking up their core foundations in the most seismic ways possible.

Understandably, the hype is through the roof for the vast majority of these titles, but there are some that considering their budgets, should really have reputations to go alongside.
