The Resident Evil 1 Remake saw a new boss in the name of Lisa Trevor, as well as a bounty of new and reimagined areas effortlessly woven into an already-classic horror. All of these turned RE1 into a masterpiece, and unless you were directly comparing the two, you wouldn’t know the difference.

Resident Evil 2 Remake then, was overhauled in an even more drastic fashion, making it comparable - if not even better - than Resident Evil 4. Liked Mr X in the old game? Well, how about he now follows you all over the Raccoon City Police Department.

However, with the Resident Evil 3 Remake, the narrative has almost been entirely focused on the game's runtime and cut content. Not only is the game what we were always going to get, but it is a masterclass in how to do action-focused Resident Evil games right.

Yes, key areas like the Clock Tower being axed are unforgivable, but this reimagined Last Escape is more than fitting for one Jill Valentine.
