Uncharted 4: 11 Things We Hated
Crates. Crates everywhere.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is finally in our hands after five years of waiting, and there's a good chance you've now had time to blast through the glorious single-player campaign for yourself.
While it may very well be not only the best Uncharted game and also one of the most technically proficient and overall entertaining games ever made, that doesn't mean it's perfect, as no game is.
As much as I can laud the jaw-dropping action and mind-blowing graphics, there are facets of the gameplay that collectively dragged it down ever-so-slightly.
Yes, they might be nitpicks in some cases, while in others they are creative oversights that should have been tightened up or nixed completely before the game's release. They don't sink the game to any significant degree, though Uncharted 4 would have an even stronger case for being this generation's greatest game were it not saddled with these gripes.
Here are 11 things I hated from Uncharted 4...
11. Exploding Mummies
Though Uncharted 4 isn't a particularly difficult game overall, there's one section that proves frustrating and irritating even on lower difficulties: those pesky exploding mummies in Chapter 19 (Avery's Descent).
Nate and Elena must trek through a series of catacombs which contain mummies, some of which are dormant while others have been rigged with explosives and will detonate when you get close to them.
This isn't so bad when it's one or two mummies, but when you're surrounded by up to half a dozen, knowing which way to dodge or dive is more a roll of the dice than anything. Getting your health drained to near-death within a second isn't much fun, and is about as close as the game gets to feeling cheap.
If you're insane enough to try this on Crushing difficulty, may God help you.
