The original game is beloved by many, many gamers and was so well-received for its fresh new take on not only the Zelda series, but open-world gameplay in general. So how do you follow up something like that? Well, you double down on what made the original so great and refine the bits that could have done with some further polishing.

With the right new mechanics and new ideas for Breath of the Wild 2, it could somehow end up being an even better game than the first one was. Nintendo knows they're onto a winning formula with the original; now its up to them to decide exactly how they're going to make it even more awesome than it was before.

What exactly though should Nintendo include in the sequel? While the original was superb, there's plenty of wishlist items that fans are crying out for in Breath of the Wild 2.

10. Revamp The Weapon System

While Breath of the Wild is more than worthy of its status as one of the best games ever made, the way weapons are handled in it is by no means perfect.

There's plenty of weapons to play around with in BOTW ranging from simple ladles to Link's iconic Master Sword; only problem is, all of these weapons, can and will break very, very quickly indeed.

It's a system designed to keep you mixing things up and swapping weapons on the fly, but it can be extremely frustrating at times. It also makes weapons feel incredibly without value - finding a strong sword, for example, simple means you'll be able to do the same amounts of damage before that breaks too.

For Breath of the Wild 2, we'd really like to see the approach to weapons change. It doesn't necessarily need to completely drop the system from Breath of the Wild - we'd just like it to include more durable weapons, stronger weapons which last longer, and maybe even the ability to fix your weapons either yourself, or at something like a blacksmiths.

Oh and if they could stop the Master Sword running out of energy too, that'd be great
