Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 - 10 Things Fans Need To See

9. Return Of Traditional Dungeons

Part of the appeal of the Zelda series has always been its sprawling, puzzle-filled, cleverly-designed dungeons. That's why their omission from Breath of the Wild really stung.

Technically there are 'dungeons' of a sort in BOTW: the Divine Beasts. The problem with these is they're all fundamentally similar and - honestly - very underwhelming, particularly when you compare them against dungeons in Zelda games from the past.

Of course, to counterbalance this, Nintendo peppered the landscape with shrines, filled with clever little puzzles. These were great fun and really made use of Breath of the Wild's exceptional physics system. That said, they're short and sweet and they just didn't quite fill the dungeon-shaped void in our hearts.

Imagine what Nintendo could do if they incorporated all of the fantastic mechanics of Breath of the Wild into some traditional-style Zelda dungeons, complete with bosses, boss keys, compasses and - of course - that iconic chest opening cutscene.

Of course, with the return of dungeons, it's also a great time to introduce something else that was very much missed in Breath of the Wild too...
