Calling all guitarists new and old! From one six-string enthusiast to another, chances are if you've ever just sat down with your weapon of choice, after the theory stuff has been sidelined and scales or songs have been practiced over and over, you want something random to jump into, just for the sake of testing your skills and having something waiting in the wings to dazzle an unsuspecting friend or family member. Whilst there are a few million videos from around the internet that will break down specific techniques and solo passages from all the greats, chances are unless they're being delivered to you by said greats themselves, they'll be omitting the necessary flair to emulate that exquisite on-record sound. Therefore I challenge thee, oh budding axeman of the future, to pick up your guitar and have a go at these riffs and passages, which I'll present in order of difficulty. Oh and if you don't play, consider this ample incentive to get stuck in, as everyone knows as soon as you can get your head around the ridiculously chaotic finger-noodling of someone like Zakk Wylde, you'll be swimming in lakes of the opposite sex faster than you can say 'Pentatonic scales in E minor'. So, you ready?
