9 Reasons To Love Arctic Monkeys

2013 is the year of Arctic Monkeys, four lads from High Green, Sheffield. They've come a long way since the days of dirty dancefloors, scummy men and totalitarian bouncers, and next month marks the fifth Arctics album in seven years; for now, 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?' serves to remind us all why we love Alex Turner and co so much, with its rock and roll swagger, infectious melody and brilliant video. And besides the fact that I, like so many others, love their tunes, I genuinely think they're about as likeable as a rock band can get. Alex and the boys are the kind of heroes that you don't see in rock so much these days: modest yet ambitious, and wearing a dry sense of humour on their leather sleeves. I'm not here to convert you into a Monkeys fan, neither am I here to argue why their music is worthy of worldwide acclaim and respect. I just believe that the Arctic Monkeys are one of the most likeable bands in the world, and here are ten reasons why.
