9 Spooky Songs To Add To Your Halloween Party Playlist

By Ivan Davison /

Its that time of year again, when the frost in the night air is just that little bit thicker, that noise in darkness is that little bit louder, and that light in the distance is just that little bit more strange. It's the night all the ghouls come out to play, when shivers run down many a spine and things go bump in the night. Or more likely, the night you and your friends don costumes, ranging from the ridiculous bad to the ridiculously revealing, from the homemade to the way too expensive. And in those costumes, your more than likely to consume more than your recommended daily alcohol intake, whether its in your (or a friends) own haunted house or out in the dark of the night. For those staying in (or starting the party at home) this Hallow's Eve, here's ten songs to add to your playlist that are guaranteed to send chills through your blood, for one reason or another.

9. Michael Jackson €“ Thriller

Start with a classic, right? The late great prince of pop (and oddball behaviour) had a plethora of hits throughout his lifelong career, and whilst some are scary for the wrong reasons (Earth Song anyone?), his 1982 super-hit from the album of same name (and still best selling album of all time) is truly a no brainer for anyone looking to compile a great & spooky playlist. Its pop stomp, sing-along lyrics & iconic dance coupled with Vincent Price's eerie spoken word bridge will put a smile on every the face of every apple-bobber in attendance.
