Samsung Try To Ban Apple's iPhone4S Sales in Australia and Japan
As expected, Samsung Electronics have made the move to seek a legal ban on sales of iPhone 4S in Australia and Japan.
"Apple has continued to violate our patent rights and free ride on our technology," Samsung said in a statement. "We will no longer stand idly by and will steadfastly protect our intellectual property." Losing ground? In the battle between the two technology giants, Apple seem to be gaining the legal advantage, certainly in the US. A judge in America last week ruled that Samsung's tablets did infringe patents owned by Apple (as long as they proved the validity of the patents with documentation) that will prevent the sale of the Galaxy Tab. Samsung have already appealed a ban in Australia and are likely to follow in the U.S. Apple already won the battle with Samsung in Germany where the Galaxy Tab 10.1 can't legally be sold. But Samsung aren't having as much luck with Dutch courts. Last Friday a plea to stop Apple selling some of their products in Netherlands was rejected outright.
