Top 10 Interactive Google Doodles

By Mike Stubbsy /

The famous Google Doodle€™s started back in 1998, when Larry Page and Sergey Brin added a stick figure behind the company€™s logo. The idea was to let people know they were out of the office, attending the Burning Man festival. Little did they know that their simple idea would change significantly over the next 16 years, eventually being used to celebrate all kinds of important dates, and even make massive political statements. Despite first appearing in 1998 doodles didn€™t become a regular feature until 2000 and even then only 33 appeared all year. Over the next 10 years all kinds of events became the subject of doodles, each of which modified the historic logo in a unique way. 2010 saw the first interactive doodle to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pac Man. Since then the team of €˜doodlers€™ have made many interactive doodles, ranging from point and click adventure games, to a 16 bit Freddie Mercury riding a tiger through space. The past 12 months have seen more interactive doodles than ever before, celebrating events ranging from Valentines Day to the 107th birthday of Grace Hopper. Non-interactive doodles are still common, almost a daily occurrence, but interactive doodles are special, coming once in a blue moon. This list takes a look at 10 of the best interactive doodles ever seen.
