5 Arsenal Youngsters To Look Out For Next Season

By Simon Collings /

It has been a mixed season for Arsenal. The Gunners are on the verge of a first trophy in nine years, with an FA Cup final against Hull under two weeks away. When you add to that the fact that Arsenal have been top of the Premier League more than any club this season, 128 days to be precise, than it is understandable that supporters are optimistic for next season. The general consensus is that, with a few good signings in the summer, Arsenal will be able to strengthen their title credentials for next season. The arrival of Mesut Ozil last summer had a clear impact on the squad and if multiple marquee signings were made then the Gunners would surely be title contenders next year. However, Arsene Wenger has recently told fans not to expect a summer of big spending. The Arsenal manager feels that stability is required, on the basis that if the Gunners had not had so many injuries this season, they would have been closer to claiming a first Premier League title since the Invincibles team of 2004. With those recent comments by Wenger in mind, it is quite possible the Arsenal boss will aim to look within when strengthening his squad, rather than breaking the bank. The North London club are renowned for their production and promotion of youngsters, with players such as Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs going on to become England internationals. Could Wenger once again place his trust in youth for next season?
