Quite literally every single Newcastle United fan will be up in arms to see the players have been enjoying themselves after yet another shambolic campaign. United barely survived in the Premier League as a decent first half of the season was followed up by the worst string of results of a generation or two, as John Carver bit off a lot more than his considerable mouth could chew with The Magpies' top job. A huge summer of rebuilding has started slowly at St James' Park with no new arrivals at the time of writing. The need for players in certain areas of the squad is so glaringly obviously it's almost laughable, United need to act before others take their primary targets. Although saying that, there have already been a plethora of players Newcastle were linked with who have joined another club. We're not saying that Newcastle's underachievers shouldn't have gone on holiday, who knows, a little get away could so them the world of good ahead of next season. But then again, the lack of arrivals means that the more time new Head Coach Steve McClaren spends with them is crucial. Old faces will need to be taught new ideas if Newcastle are to secure their Premier League status again next term.
