10 Most Insane Community Fan Theories

Dan Harmon's hit sitcom Community has spawned some WILD fan theories over the years.

Community is a series like no other, where most other sitcoms spend their time following presets and dogmas that other shows have traditionally used to gain a wide following, Community did not.

Community spent most of its time pointing out these tropes in order to subvert and mock them at any opportunity. This resonated with the hardcore fans to the point that they started to wonder if the already very meta show was actually way more meta underneath than it appeared to be.

Exploring the world of Community's fan theories ranges from the very possible to the completely insane. However, because of just how insane the show actually was at times you can never truly discount anything that is put forward as a possible hidden truth.

This, of course, means that anything that can be thought up could be real somewhere in the Community multiverse - the possibilities are quite literally endless.

So, let's take a look at 10 of the most insane Community theories out there...

10. Annie Is The Ass-Crack Bandit

The hunt for the Ass-Crack Bandit led the group to a dead-end, after an epic chase and several suspects along the way.

But what if the bandit was one of the people doing the investigating? The theory according to Reddit user /rustyphish/ says that Annie was the Ass-Crack Bandit the whole time because when she went to community college she was suddenly exposed to a world of mature sexual experiences and had no idea how to handle it, so she created a figure that acted immaturely yet somewhat sexually by dropping coins down people's trousers.

There is other evidence too that points to Annie being the bandit, by which that at the end of the show her psych evaluation profile showed she was prone to anti-social behaviour. There's also her reaction later on in the series when Jeff mentioned the bandit and she laughed suspiciously.

Community writer Alex Rueben also posed a picture of the script that detailed this moment. It read: "ANNIE (was probably the ass crack bandit) Yeeeeah."

The evidence from the show is fairly overwhelming that it was Annie the whole time, and recently, during the lockdown Community reunion, Alison Brie herself alluded to this being the truth.
