10 Problems With Game Of Thrones Nobody Wants To Admit
No seriously Jon Snow, you know nothing.
There's a lot to recommend Game Of Thrones. George RR Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire books have provided any number of memorable characters, shocking plot twists and a living, breathing world that's somewhat like feudal Britain with more boobs. The TV show has any number of memorable actors, even more shocking plot twists, and a living, breathing world that is filmed in the British countryside, with added boobs. Besides the boobs, there's the complex morality which will introduce a character as a straight-up villain before asking the audience to sympathise with them (and they usually succeed, too); the cinematography has more in common with, well, cinema, than television, with blockbuster budgets being thrown at the screen. It's become a bonafide cultural phenomenon, breaking out of any sort of nerdy genre ghetto to appeal to a hugely wide audience who have been inured to fantasy locales with the likes of Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter books and their ensuing films adaptations. HBO are probably funding everything else on their channel with the subscriptions that show has brought them. The show is almost universally beloved by critics and audiences alike, and rightly so. But it does have some glaring issues that tend to be overlooked, but deserve to be challenged. Like some of the accents. And the...choices in adaptation. Here are ten problems with Game Of Thrones nobody wants to admit.
